Well,as usual,it's time to take 2 asprin and try to have a good nights sleep........and wish that all our players spend the week off getting fit and getting mad!!!!
It's time to remove your fingers lads.No more messing about!!!!!!!

The fact that Real and Dortmund, 2 of the semi finalists were in City's group says a lot and perhaps vindicates their poor performance in Europe a little bit.

Man U and all the other English sides are absolutely nowhere near that level. The 4 semi finalists are above and beyond anything the PL has to offer, if you can't see that now I guarantee you'll see it soon when it keeps on repeating itself.

Barcelona scraped past PSG, having had a scare v Milan, beaten by Celtic in the group stages when still all to play for.....Real Madrid had a lucky break v Utd when looking set to go out and didn't look too solid v Galatasaray and Dortmund fluked their way past Malaga. Only Bayern have looked consistently good. DL keeps trotting out his mantra that these sides are far ahead of the English ones. Why?

Anything to add DL?

City were in dis-array off aswell as on the field, like I said, you base what you say on what you see at face value, instead of thinking about why, that is the only thing being amusingly repeated round here.

Dortmund fluked their way past Malaga? You must have missed the 3 world class saves Malaga's GK had to pull out in the 2nd leg and the countless chances Dortmund missed in Malaga. Real Madrid didn't have a lucky break, they were slightly better than United over the 2 legs and deserved to go through, United's tactics were spot on but a lack of concentration for a 30 minute period cost them the tie. Nothing we've seen from City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal suggests they are close to the four sides in the last 4 now. Take out Chelsea last year (who were a relative anomaly) and no English team has got beyond the Last 16 for two years running, that must tell you something, no?

When the English teams dominated from 2005-2009 everybody was quick to say the PL was the strongest, it's only fair that when the tables are turned we do the same.

So Basel Chelsea. Should be interesting. The semi that might have been!

Was always going to happen, they were never going to allow our ball to be drawn with yours as they don't want Spurs and Chelsea in Amsterdam.

Probably the best draw we could have hoped for under the circumstances.

if Rafa wins the EL and the FA cup where does he rank on the list of Chelsea's most successful managers?

He'll never be viewed as a success by Chelsea fans purely on the basis he turned us from title challengers to battlers for 3rd/4th place.

Rafa has turned you into 3rd/4th place battlers?

ermm... you finished 6th last season, DL.

you've not been title contenders for some time now. no offense.

Obviously he'll be behind Mourinho and RDM (as CL > EL)
He'd be ahead of Hiddink, who Chelsea fans seem to love.

How many Chelsea managers have 2 trophies? Would he be their 3rd best manager ever?

We were 4 points from top spot. Benitez disrupted the rhythm of the team and decided to field weakened teams in league games hence losses to QPR/West Ham and dropped points to Fulham/Southampton/Reading. Inability to change and make subs cost us many points.

The players have to aportion themselves some of the blame, but at least 50% lies with Benitez.

6th was not a true reflection of where we were really at but we curtailed thanks to the cups.

Bit like Ramos being the best manager for Tottenham in the premier league :)

You mean in the premier league era? I think you will find that is Ramos AND George Graham. Maybe the formula for success is to appoint a manager the fans hate?

In just the premier league i think its Harry currently

Is there a danger of that again?

Anyone know how that praying malarkey works?

Well....I believe that there's supposed to be this old guy with a long white beard up in the sky somewhere. You're supposed to ask him nicely for whatever it is you want. Personally, I don't know of too many instances where he's taken much notice though.

I'm not usually a praying man, but in this instance:

You're right. 5th was. Just.

Isn't that only at Christmas?
