Wet Spam take out another full-page ad in Metro to get their attendances up for the Wigan game, and to make the club look trendy and stylish include photos of their celebrity fans - Russell Brand, James Corden and Ray Winstone.

No wonder they can't fill Upton Park...

It must be tough to have rivals that have a much better history, stadium, squad, manager and fans than you.

Your lucky that there are a lot of clubs in London that can be your rivals, similar clubs to Spurs like QPR, West Ham , Fulham and Charlton.

Yawn. Why the new account mr Banana, did you get banned for being a know nothing bore?

I'm sure the extra however much a week he earns helped too. City and United were also interested so it was always going to be about who will throw the most money at him, which we'd never win.

United offered more money (wages) than us. We were always his 1st choice so long as we got top 3/4

Where did I say UEFA had an anti-Spurs vendetta exactly? Here's a hint, I didn't - I said "UEFA failed to pretend it wasn't a closed shop for a select band of clubs" which is not in any way related to your (remarkably wrong) interpretation.

UEFA rules state that finishing in the top four of the Premier League 2011/12 season was enough to qualify for the Champions League, yet a team that did exactly that did not qualify. Why? Because UEFA decided that co-efficients were more important, as well as stringing a line that they couldn;t have five teams from one league in the tournament (despite the fact that the 2005/6 tournament featured Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Everton and Liverpool - that's five clubs from one league, therefore precident for saying that they can and have allowed five teams from one league into the tournament)

UEFA also state that a team found guilty of match-fixing would be expelled from their competitions, yet Fenerbahce - who were found to be at the centre of a match-fixing scandal in Turkey last season - are permitted into this season's Champions League, and once again their attempt to explain away this obvious anomaly is to bang on about co-efficients again.

Spurs did not fail to qualify for the Champions league, because we did everything to qualify for the tournament. There's only one party that failed in this instance, and it's UEFA, as they demonstrated once again the Champions League is a closed shop, and hide behind talk of co-efficients instead of using common sense.

If anything, that makes UEFA pro-Chelsea than anti-Spurs.

Yep, the same UEFA that described us as the "enemy of football", that must be it <doh>

UEFA are elitist and pro-exG14. I agree with you on the coefficients but that's the same with the Euro's as well.

Spurs IMO should have been allowed into the CL but there's no point humming and haring about it now.

Does anyone get why the press are pushing Rio to replace JT and are seemingly shocked at Roy possibly overlooking him again. If I were Lescott, Cahill, or Jagielka I'd be thinking...cheers! No, they might not be quite as good, but so what, he is not the future of England. Has it escaped their attention Rio will be 35 come the next WC Finals, would they really rest their faith in his fitness by then. I can only imagine it would ruin their headlines about Rio in Rio!

why is it when a top european player is unsettled and the papers report it,they say,City,United Chelsea are intrested, they alway's include Liverpool,as if they are still atop club playing C/L football.the point being why would that type of player go to the pool as they are not in the C/L.they have'nt the funds, and if they have the owner is unwilling to pay the sort of prices, and wages they would want, the new's media should wake up and smell the coffee.

True. The only reason for a player to choose Liverpool, at this time, would be like Joe Cole, for money. If that's not on the table anymore, why choose them over any of their rivals? Unless, of course, you don't like your car!

Because the media love Liverpool.

In this country we have a habit of lingering on the past which is exactly what Liverpool are. IMO Liverpool will do well to get top half. They are at best the 8th best team in the league but I feel sides like WBA and Fulham are as strong if not stronger.

The 1st part was common knowledge I thought. The 2nd part I know from someone that does have genuine connections at Lille (not an ITK or anything but lives out there) but I doubt anyone would believe me.

Fair enough, never heard that rumour about him turning down more at United. Seems a bit strange if you ask me.
