I felt that when they scored to go ahead Spurlock. I thought that if we get one we'd get two or two halves. Had we gone ahead first then we'd have scored more. Going behind at home and waiting an hour to score our goal from a tap in isn't good imo.
It's 5 games into the season. No team has shown outstanding form, but you wouldn't expect them to yet. Chelsea & Utd's results have been far better than their performances, City have looked wobbly in defence, Arsenal looked toothless in the first two games, Liverpool are pants...Spurs have picked up two wins against two very modest teams, which will boost confidence and have pushed you into the top half of the table. It's far too early to jump to any conclusions.
I've gone for 2-1 United, Gerrard FS. 140/1.
Just need Suarez to pull off a dive, Gerrard to convert the pen then the ball is rolling.
I'm less sure about this game than any other, although I think 2 losses this early on is potentially damaging for United. They really were fortunate to win at St Mary's and were outplayed at Goodison. I'm sure there are at least 5 more losses left in them.
Arsenal's first two games were 0-0 draws. How was that not toothless?
I'm very happy with 5 out of 9 points from Etihad, Anfield, Britannia. On the day, I was disappointed with the draw at Stoke, but them and City away have consistently been one of the toughest 3-4 games in the season for us.
When ManU, ManC, Chelski etc don't deserve to win they "grind out" a win or are described as "great" because great teams win when they don't deserve to. Sound familiar? Thing is, if you look at the whole season these "top teams" have rather a lot of grind out wins, a lot of which come from dodgy penalties etc. Spurs rarely win games they don't deserve to and when this happens, like today, it is generally said that we didn't deserve the win. For some reason it's rarely said that these "top teams" didn't deserve their win. It's shoddy, lazy, dishonest reporting and built on cliche.
Now who's going to start the poll on what type of dodgy decision will go against us at ManU next week - penalty, sending off, offside, ruled out even though it crossed the line, a Nani special?
I haven't seen the 90 minutes of your game to comment but looking at the stats it would appear you were worthy winners.
The media have given Spurs fair praise where it's due (perhaps at times too much), take the 4-3 game with Inter for instance where many were quick to heap praise on the Spurs side namely Bale despite losing and shipping 4 goals.
You conceded 3 goals in each of your games v Utd last season. In years gone by, it's often been 3, 4 or 5. Teams don't routinely ship goals on this scale because they don't get the rub of the green but because they make mistakes.
Come off it, PNP. Spurs were outplayed in your 3-0 defeat at OT last year and made a number of defensive errors in the 3-1 defeat at WHL- Walker especially. And the idea that the questionable penalty in the 5-2 defeat three years ago was somehow responsible for the Spurs defence parting like the Red Sea four more times is laughable. Whilst there have been controversial decisions in this fixture, how many have been decisive? You would have to go back to the Mendes incident in 2005 If you look at the results over the years, Spurs have usually got a well deserved thrashing. It may be closer next week but I wouldn't bank on it.
