Aubameyang is a natural goal scorer though, look at his record for them since he joined

For me him, Aguero and Kane are the top 3 strikers in the PL

He's also playing in a team that have been bereft of creativity for the past two years. This season alone, we are ranked 16th in the division for total shots, 13th for xG (expected goals) and were 19th in the league for chances created. Ozil hasn't played for us since March, and has only made 18 appearances anyway, yet he has created the joint-most chances for us this season along with Nicolas Pepe. Kinda says it all.

It was only a few years ago where we had players like Ramsey, Cazorla, Rosicky, Wilshere, Mkhitaryan, Chamberlain etc. Even though some of these players had plenty of flaws, they could still create opportunities. We have no players like this anymore.

For me, this makes Aubameyang's goalscoring record even more impressive.

Whilst critique of our defence is justified, for me, the midfield is an urgent priority to be fixed.

There was a stat years back that “proved” Brunt was better than Xavi. Since then it’s been basically a footballing rule to mention the two in the same sentence.
It was basically used to counter people who got a little too obsessed with stats.
Brunt had more goals, assists, chances created, etc. than Xavi while playing in a clearly inferior side.
You wouldn't see anyone claiming that he was a better player, but stats were supposed to be an argument ender with others.

I can remember a lot of people banging on about Modric when he was still with us, pointing out his lack of assists, goals and the like.
They seemed to miss how important he was to the overall game, probably because they'd watch some highlights and that was it.
Don't see many people with similar criticisms of him any more, for some reason.
