There did seem to be enormous holes at the back when they were breaking.
Fourth might've been questionable though, due to the head injury that the Man Utd players were highlighting in their own box.

The second was the dodgy one. Abraham loses the ball because maguires all over him in a bear hug but we didnt defend it well when we had the chance so cant cant complain too much about it really

City are set to sell Mangala to Valencia. By my calculations, that leaves them with just 3 CBs: Laporte, Otamendi and Stones. And the latter is useless. Couple of injuries at the back and they're fecked.

That's a bit of an odd move...since Valencia aren't so openly being used as a shop window for Jorge Mendes clients as they were a few years back

I'd forgotten he was even there!
The problem is though that Walker can play there and Rodri could easily drop back given his height etc.
 
Man City received a £ 315,000 fine for tapping up under 18 players, that is pathetic I bet that is not as much as a weeks wages for Aguero, when are the authorities going to stamp down on these clubs who regularly flout the games laws then pay the fine to the authorities, if the money went into local youth football that would go some way to payback but no it goes to the likes of EUFA and FIFA to end up in the pockets of officials on the take

The FA considered a retroactive points deduction

When they suggested that points deduction be two points, somebody else suggested that might be a bit too obvious...

It is a pointless fine, but it's their first offence and it was one player.
Chelsea's ban was for getting caught repeatedly and the last one was something like 28 players! <laugh>

Couple of other shock results tonight: Ajax very nearly got knocked out at home by PAOK, Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub (who?) thrashed Basel.

And Porto were 0-3 down at home to FC Krasnodar by half time, rallied to make it 2-3 but crashed out on away goals.

They also lost their first league game to Gil Vicente(?).
Conceicao may have to turn things around quickly, as he took them to 2nd place in everything last season.
2nd in the league behind Benfica and lost both domestic cup finals to Sporting on penalties. Ouch.
 
Cluj. Who on earth are they?
I was looking at the teams in the FA Cup Qualifying round and thought...once upon a time I knew where practically every team came from. No longer.They all play in England,don't they?

The league cup has thrown me, tonight they had a Northern draw and a Southern draw for round two? Even more confusing was the fact that at least half a dozen PL teams were in the draw but seemed random.

Sounds new to me...theyre always trying to revamp this cup to give it some appeal
