... makes you wonder if the latest farce/debacle has led to the wealthier, local Leeds fans eg Parkin, Wilkinson, Sykes etc now thinking enough's enough now, & joining forces with the Farnan bid? Strength in numbers & all that. If so - & they are successful in their bid - then who will run the show?
Too many cooks and all that. Sounds like to me both consortiums cant or wont afford to go it alone. The worry then is profit split, boardroom disagreements, ego's and actual investment on the player side of things. I'd much prefer an owner as aposed to a board of owners. We've seen what a mess GFH have left us in trying to flip us. Its a farce we have failed to attract major investment or a buyer. Theres got to be so much going on behind the scenes that we dont know and its a real worry. I see know reason to disbelieve admin rumours as we have been run poorly and ripped off for years! Clarity for once please LUFC!
Too little, too late. I've been wondering where these local Leeds supporting businessmen were, now they suddenly show up en masse. And if they need to group together like this to raise the funds that's not a good start. It would be like GFH part 2. Nope, still Cellino for me until I see a better alternative
We may not have a club if someone doesnt fork up some serious money soon! And if we are leaking 650k we need someone with the money to keep us a float, not to mention take us onto the next level. Best of a bad bunch is Cellino IMO. He shouldnt be allowed within 20 miles of ANY FOOTBALL CLUB, but it is what it is are we are getting left behind year opon year. **** or bust and Cellino gets the nod from me for that exact reason.
Billy you have backed the wrong horse all along mate, so why don't you give it up as a bad job. You told us Haigh was brilliant and would be great for the club, well how did that go mate? he's almost sent us over the edge with his vanity. We need an investor and as this bunch have queered the pitch for anyone else thinking about it ....... Cellino is not my idea of great, but the best we are going to get right now. Parkin, Verity and Pearson have all admitted they dont have the cash to sort the mess out ..
But remember Parker, Verity and Pearson have now added an extra ingredient to the consortium that should make a hell of a difference ......Tweety Haigh. And bang on cue he's back on today about only wanting whats best for Leeds. Give us a break
I am a pragmatist, but I have thought about this and the Cellino bid will be an unmitigated disaster. Lets pray an alternative credible is made
Heard that Cellino's lawyer has been escorted out of ER by security and that GFH will be meeting with the Flowers/Farnan consortium tomorrow. Not over yet.....
Haigh has done nothing, except it seems being a Tory ... that is pathetic! Haigh and Flowers found something that didn't please them, and they revised their bid accordingly ... Cellino then joined in as an advisor and potential partner with SC, but he went behind their backs and made a direct bid which GFH accepted, probably out of spite ... then mayhem ensues with Cellino showing he is a despot and our club is thrown into complete chaos ... now Pearson's consortium are looking to throw their money in with Haigh and SC and hopefully convince GFH to sell to them instead ... here's the kicker, Cellino has no guarantee of passing the FL test, especially as he has TWO convictions, so wrong horse is maybe being aimed incorrectly ... McD is a good man, is honest and does everything with integrity ... would McD back Haigh if he was a crook and a muppet? It seems political views are clouding perceptions, but remember that SC put in £6m to keep our club going, with a chunk of that being Haigh's OWN money, so how as a Leeds fan can you call him a jerk? Make arguments against him if he TOOK OUT £6m for his own gain, tried to select the team, sold McCormack to Boro for £1m, blocked any transfers in .... I think you get the picture. McD is the right mananager for our club, Haigh is right for our club in an executive role, Cellino is a dictator who is capable of anything, and that means danger for Leeds United ... GFH need to go quickly, the FL needs to stand up to Cellino and ensure he never owns an English club ... why did both West Ham and Palace refuse to sell to him? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I used to believe they stayed away because of Bates but it seems they were all hot air, Bates has been gone a year and still they have pussy footed around, as for Haigh and company discovering something not right when they did DD why did Haigh not know about it twelve months ago when we suffered 6 months or more of DD
Excellent post Billy Sick of reading all the anti Haigh **** on here. McDermott and others who have met him know he wants the best for the club. I'll take McDermotts view of him over the clowns on here anytime.
the "something not right" may have been a clause added by GFH around percentages and future selling price ... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Things change in a year. Better question is why Haigh did not know what is going on given his ongoing insider role?
Yep, you would think he would be trying to broker a deal with the best intrest of both parties but something guzumped him/them. The cynic in me thought it was a ploy to wait for the transfer window to shut, but now the cynic in me is fearing even worse! Theres something in our books that is keeping potential backers away. I thought we would have a nice shiny up to date book of accounts from the last takeover banishing all Bates spun webs, but thats not the case it would appear!
how I see it ... Cellino goes to GFH says to them "change a clause guaranteeing you more money for the percentage you retain and I'll sign" ... this changes the landscape for SC who already have an agreement with GFH ... SC revise their bid down accordingly ... Cellino steps in and makes his bid meeting the clause ... don't think the SC bid was changed because of inaccurate accounting or something fundamentally wrong at the club, this was purely a matter of financial gain for GFH ... if something was wrong with the books Cellino couldn't have his bid passed by the FL anyway as the due diligence already done by SC would have scuppered it ... no, GFH are simply trying to maximise their position Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Farnan initially offered what Cellino agreed to buy the club for. This idea that only Cellino has the money is the same skewed thinking that allowed Bates to let people believe he was our knight in shining armour. FFS people acting as if extra investors joining the consortium is a bad thing.
If Cellino gets in and ruins our club (as he would) I honestly won't feel sorry for any of you who are supporting him now. We finally seem to have the chance to prevent disaster and you're all willing to give our club to any crook who flashes a few euros. You'd be getting the club you deserve.
Cellinos bid has been matched... Now the fun really starts. Cellino is bound to issue a writ. Hopefully he fails the ffp and it becomes irrelevant. No I have no proof, you will have to wait until it makes the papers, interweb tomorrow or Wednesday. Unless Farnan or someone twats it.
