What a terrible shock this news was to us and the rest of the show jumping world. Tim was one of the greatest showjumpers in the World and a true gentleman. Tim was only 54. Diagnosed with stomach cancer in October he died peacefully on Wednesday. 7 years ago his career was as good as over when he broke 3 vertebrae in his neck, but he was competing and winning at international level as recent as September this year
At the age of 6 Amanda (our daughter) was trained by Tim who told her she would one day represent GB. How right he was but her career was ended by a horrific car accident. Now Tim has gone. I remember when he won the big event at HOTY show, on his lap of honour he spotted Amanda and gave her his rosette
It's a real tear jerker for us, and so many who knew him
RIP Tim
