What a star he was. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...revie-era-paul-madeley-dies-aged-73-1-9266102
Sad news he was a great player who played anywhere for the team a true legend and I don't support leeds but have seen him play against my team spurs many times R.I.P.
Very sad news, a true Leeds Legend, Beeston Lad, only ever wanted to play for his beloved Leeds RIP Paul Madeley
Totally agree mate, truly great all round player. Reported to have signed a blank piece of paper when offered a new contract as he didn't want to play anywhere else, so left management to fill in the blanks.
FFS another true Leeds United/ Revie legend gone. Don't know if he really got the credit as much as Billy and Giles etc. Sad news. I could be wrong but I'm sure he was in the side v the scum, last game of the 79/80 season my first live game as a kid.
Good morning all One of Revie's most important players, the Rolls Royce who was a calming influence on all the players around him. Paul played in every position apart from goalkeeper for Revie's Leeds Still reeling with sad bereavement of Paul Madeley RIP
RIP Paul The club will never ever see the likes of Paul Madeley again. A gent' with Leeds United running through him.
RIP Paul. I always remember The Don surprising an interviewer when he said that PM was always the last name on the team sheet. The interviewer was horrified and said "I would have thought he would be one of the first!" The Don laughed & replied "I pick the team and find out what position I'm struggling to fill. That's Paul's spot - he can really play well in any position and will never let me down. I have the luxury of him being one of my first picks, but last to be allocated a position". I can't think of any player in any country of any time that could do that. The word 'unique' is used too often these day. Paul Madeley was unique.
