Off Topic Rip off Britian

After my near death experience today at the hands off some psychotic serial killer parading as a dentist, it seems that there are some horror stories.

Pieguts, Tobes and Fan have mentioned stupid prices being quoted for a bit of dental work.

What other cases of Rip off Britian have affected you?

 

£240 quid for a crown! ffs. and if it comes lose for gods sake don't swallow it!

 

I have a disabled lad so getting anthjng for him with the word "disabled/disability" means price goes up by more than double/triple

He has to have shoes made and if you thought Nike were expensive try paying £200 a pop for shoes which last 3-6 months if that (worn onlybwhen out and in wheelchair so not exactly wear and tear)

 

@pieguts was talking 3k for 2 falsies

 

Now that's a rip off

 

Its £100 for a 15/20 minute check at one of ours

Paid £500+ for deep cleaning. Want £375 for 1 back tooth that needs gum slicing then cleaning. Told them **** off

 

Think i'll open a not606 dental/sex shop, will rake it in.

 

Biggest legal con going. No wonder countries in a financial mess tbh

I has to look at getting beds for him at one stage, up to £6000 coz they have barriers.

Or buy a normal single bed with wood frame and either bolt/screw in some slats or get those toddler barrier things (£15 in argos)

Don't get me started on wheelchairs

 

6k for a bed..****ing hell man.

 

Its easy money

Some treatments its cheaper go to india, pay for a holiday and get work done (by western doctor/dentist) and return

So a UK £10k treatment can get you a fortnight, hotel and treatment for £3-5k

My uncle needed kidney transplant due to diabetes and it would have been cheaper and quicker to go abroad and buy a kidney and get the op done than what it cost on the NHS (his son gave him the kidney)

 

Excuse my ignorance, but aren't things like kidneys free (if they have a donor)

 

This one is £2160 without mattress etc and is a basic one

In UK yeah. But I meant abroad in south Asia so India/Pakistan.

Sad thing is people there sell them willingly to escape poverty etc

Seen an ad recently for an indian bloke who wants to sell a body part so he can keep his obese twin girls in Pepsi and snacks

If you are a handy person its not hard to fix up barriers around a bed. Just a normal wooden frame one.
