In this case Aberdeen. The bi-annual Oil Exhibition is back in town. One of the hotels is charging £600 per night instead of the usual £200. Breakfast not included. ****in disgrace of a country.
That is an absolute disgrace but it isn't confined to Britain. I go to Brussels a fair amount and the place I stay at trebles the prices during the European Sea Food Exhibition. I would suggest buying a tent and camping out in protest but if you've been to brussels you will understand my reluctance.......
Camping in Brussels? Doesn't sound great fella, no. I went to Ostend once, about 2 weeks after Man U "fans" had been through and wrecked the place. It was an even worse place to go for a holiday than Wales was, and their love of the English really shone through.
Airlines pull the same ****e all the time. Spent a lot of time flying between Glasgow and Heathrow. Whenever a bank holiday rolled around the price for the same flight doubled. Theiving ****s.
Yup Capitalism is ****. Look at the cost of the mickey mouse carbunkle Scotch Paliament building in the most twee capital city of Shortbread.
Apparently flights are cheaper on the 13th of each month (especially if its a Friday) as a lot of superstitious simpletons don't want to fly on that day. With the 10th anniversary of Sep 11 just a few days away, demand will be down and there will be a lot of bargains for that day too.
...I'm sure they'll finally get it repaired some day. They're a bit busy with the trams at the moment.
I was in a tea room in Pitlochlry last week and I ordered two teas and a scone with butter and an Empire biscuit. Imagine my shock when I was presented with the bill for £9. I immediately wrote a letter to the Sunday Post to complain. That's Rip Off Britain.
Pitlochry is lovely though. You're paying for the fresh air and stunning views and friendly people. That's why it's a bit dearer than the Central Belt.
Got charged €16 for two haufs of Jamesons in Barcelona last time Celtic were in town, rip off everywhere when demand goes above supply.
