Mick died today aged 59 He made 135 appearances for the lads between 1979 - 1983 On a personal note, when I was a kid his son went to school with my brother. He kindly agreed to take my autograph book to training one day, and got all of the lads to sign it for me RIP Mick
Very sad news: RIP For the record, they will not have a minutes silence against the Mags, as they always wait to the last home game of the season for this.
Terrible news, I saw him playing when I first started watching Sunderland in the early 1980's, fast strong lad.
Didn't even know he had been ill? Was it a sudden death? I've seen some stories about problems with alcoholism? Very sad to hear this. Was one of those players I remember very well from my youth on the 78-83 seasons. At 59, he was still very young. RIP Mick lad.
