I had the privilege of seeing him play at white Hart Lane in the seventies. A true legend. The legacy he left behind is there for all to see at barcalona total pure football which was started at ajax and cruyff then instigated when he got to Spain. The word legend is often mentioned with past players and most of the time wrongly but with this man legend doesn't even come close .Pure genius is how I would describe him.R.I.P.
I remember going to Wembley in the seventies to watch England never saw them play just Cruyff ripping them apart RIP http://www.eclecticblue.org.uk/wednesday-9-february-1977/
I remember like most I expect, Johan Cruyff from the 1974 world cup, ironic really, I remember as a young lad placing a win/lose bet on one match from each round, each phase....every single bet came in, until the final, suppose it may have been the Cruyff influence and the British hate of anything German that lost me my final wager.
