Very sad to read of the passing of Ferdy Murphy today: https://www.racingpost.com/news/lat...y-murphy-dies-after-long-cancer-battle/398023 He did a wonderful job on pretty limited resources and his son Barry summed it up perfectly: "He was a pure genius and he was a master of getting one well handicapped for Cheltenham, which is very hard to do these days as if you're too well handicapped, you won't get in." I remember his Divers winning the novice handicap on day 1 of the festival (if memory serves correct, the horse never won another race - talk about trained to the minute) and of course the wonderful Kalahari King winning the big novices chase at Aintree. Thanks for the memories Ferdy and rest in peace
