    RIP

He was the Dean Windass of entertainment ...

... made the most out of limited talent with hard work and determination.

    RIP Des.

Mrs EJK used to visit his stables as a little girl. Got a photo somewhere of her and her sister wearing some racing silks from his stables.

As a kid I couldn't tell him and bob monkhouse apart.

No idea what I was watching either of them in but always thought they were incredibly likeable.

Very sad news. If you've never seen it, look up the interview he did with Stan Boardman about the fokkers. Had me crying with laughter. RIP Des

He didn't have the ego of the likes of Bruce Forsyth and didn't mind himself being at the receiving end of jokes. I think this more than anything endeared him to me.. R.I.P.

Just read his BBC story. Turns out he wrote the jokes for them. Bit of self publicity there.
