I saw him play just the once
At Stamford Bridge in 1971 where Man U beat Chelsea 2-1 in front of 53,000 people

I also went to see the Gas play Man U in the LC st Eastville in 1972 but Dennis didn’t play that night. Maybe he was injured or had gone to Man City by then
The attendance of that one was an impressive 33,000

Man U were never my team but I’m genuinely sad at his passing

Another great loss for the sport of football and I was fortunate to see him on 3 occasions and he shone as always. Why do I have this faint memory of him and Ian Ure (a fellow Scottish international) going at it during a match and they both were sent off smiling and hugging each other? Or am I getting too old to think it was at Highbury back in the sixties? Rest in peace my friend. <rose><rose><rose>

I think you’re correct Mike

I was lucky to meet the guy approximately 20 years ago. He did one of those Lunch dinner talks at the Bristol Marriott. Very funny guy, coming out with plenty of pranks etc whilst at Man U..and what they used to get up to (apart from Bobby C who was the serious one)!
He left plenty of time after his talk to sign autographs and chat with everyone individually.
A great footballer but also a great person..
RIP Denis
