Those of you who live in the North East will have seen on the local news that a 17 year old lad died last night after being assaulted in the quiet village of Stokelsley. Dan was a very good friend of mine and a frequent poster on the Boro boards on the old 606.

Dan was a unique lad in many ways, he was one of few people that still bothered turning up to watch Middlesbrough week in week out and he also genuinely believed that Shola was a top class striker, frequently telling me that he wanted him to play for the boro!

He loved the game in every way and will be a great loss to the footballing world.

Rest in peace mate x
 
17 years old man. What a world we live in, absolutely no age at all. Hope those responsible punished accordingly.

Being away at Uni I hadn't heard anything about this, but was at home over Easter when a second man in as many years was killed outside the Beehive pub in Bishop Auckland...Horrible stuff like!

Sorry for your loss! RIP!
 
RIP and sympathies to his family. see 2 have been arrested in Guisborough over this, I live in Guisborough, and nothing like this usually happens, yeah there are fights. like there are evreywhere, but nothing too outlandish, will have to keep my ear to the ground and see if i know them (probably not though i keep myself to myself usually), but my wifes family might.
