awesome band - even the later stuff - went softer cause of the nodules always hoped he would get his voice back RIP
Suffering from depression and alcoholism for years. Comes on the day of Chris Cornells Birthday who he was a close friend of, tough days like the birthday a close friend who also committed suicide not long ago make depression a dangerous killer.
Yeah Dont care what anyone says about how these guys just shout, i am telling you now, i sing all styles (not very well) from swing right through to metallica. Both Chester of Linkin Park and Chris Cornell are two of the most technically difficult vocalists to do bar none. Sinatra is a doddle, literally anyone can sing swing, obviously not with the same presence as the greats but the actual voices were nothing special. Cornells range was phenomenal, think i heard somewhere four octaves ffs! While the likes of one step closer and bleed it out are near damn impossible to cover well.
You made me worry there. I thought Chester FC had folded again. Didn't realise there was a band called Rip Chester.
Did the soundtrack to first three transformer movies Amazing band, more than just shouting, usually hand something to say in the lyrics Hands held high very relavent to today Were amazing live and Chesters voice was awesome
Great song. I remember getting their album hybrid theory when was young. It's not really my kind of music the whole big rock shouty stuff but there's had great music to go with it and wasn't so shouty that couldn't understand what they were saying.
If you actually listen to the lyrics to the final album it is very obvious now with hindsight where Chesters head was. Depression really does need looking at - there is a now tragic radio interview doing the rounds with Chester which as it says in the title was clearly a cry for help. Lot of people angry with him saying he is selfish which although true it is no way as simple as that. Money really can't make that much of a difference if when left alone with yourself all you can do is hate and resent yourself. Very worrying that this condition receives so little attention.
