    Interesting facts about the late, great Burt Reynolds:

    Reynolds adored Kendall Mint Cake and often visited the Romney's site to oversee new machinery and working practices.
    The Pontiac Trans Am famously driven by Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit is currently owned by snooker ace Tony Meo.
    Reynolds once made a cameo appearance in The Bill: he played DCI Burnside's alcoholic brother-in-law, Neville Clapper.
    In ancient Gaelic, Burt Reynolds translates as festooned crumpet.
    A teetotaller since 1985, Reynolds went nowhere without a decent supply of Tizer.
