I'm going to assume by the lack of activity on this board regarding the riots, they haven't hit Leeds. I sincerely hope it remains this way.
Not yet…a disturbance in Chapeltown but that was due to 2 shootings in the space of a week. Police are on standby anyway in case owt happens.
Fingers crossed. This is exactly the kind of situation in which I think an emergency law should be passed to allow you to grab people off the streets and hang them up by their dangly bits if you can give a good reason. Would love if the lot of them could get massive jail sentences, shame it's impossible.
PM has publicly stated "if you're old enough to do the crime you're old enough to do the time". Lets hope his actions mirror his words.
You can tell they're still British though. Pic on the front of the Telegraph yesterday of them queuing to get in to loot a shop .
one eyewitness saw some dude looting a shop then coming out with loads of ****, pressing the button at the traffic lights and waiting for the green man before crossing the road
there's a video circulating around of a man who's been twatted, he's on the floor bleeding, and blokes around him help him to his feet n make sure his ok. Then they open his backpack and steal all his ****.
Sorry if I’m scaring everyone. I just would rather be prepared just in case. Its kicked off in town on Park row and by train station… ****
please say ur kiddin, I'm off to town drinking tonight... if it is a joke I'll forgive you for it being a little insensitive, just because I'm scared
I'm in town at work and we've been warned of gangs around my building at the top end of town and police are all over the shop FFS. might have to go straight to ground then. rather than go home.
by top end, where abouts do you mean? I'm headed for Carpe Diem, and that area of town. I'd imagine the rioting would be confined to heavy shopping areas and banks. I hope, since I'm off up the bar district!
