Source: BBC Bristol Sport Twitter - https://twitter.com/bbcbristolsport Regarding Eaves: We have him for the away games at Aldershot and Cheltenham. He has played his last game at the Mem. Regarding Riordan: I presume from the tweet that he has actually left Rovers. So either he was not in Wards plans or Rovers not in Riordans plans now that MM has left. Thoughts??
I'm worried where the goals will come from now! I thought Riordan would get a game up front under Ward, but with both gone it's a real worry! I feel we now need GK, CM, RM, ST at the very least, but to be fair Higgs said he hopes "to bring in several players who can help us to start climbing the table", so roll on January!
Seems to be a bit of confusion. I thought Eaves is with us until end of December meaning he has 2 games lefts with us. But some on the OS thinks his 2 month loan has now ended meaning he has left. If Eaves have gone, this leaves Clarkson / Anyinsah / Richards as possible choices for Ward for up front until he can get new players in.
Will be interesting to see what happens in Riordan's career now...bet now he's match fit he goes on to score a ton of goals elsewhere!
I'm a bit concerned that Eaves seems to want to stay, but Bolton refuse to let him. Is that because Rovers are playing crap; Freeman doesn't trust Wards stewardship; or he feels that Eaves should be around Bolton's first team??
Just finished wrapping pressies so came on line for a break. Another issue is that Anyinsah has another fresh start ok as we are short in front of goal however he is not very consistent perhaps Wards new formation may help? Rhiordan about time he did MM no favours during his time with us took the money on offer and would have rather been in Scotland,no issues with Wards decision or Rhiordans whoever it was. As for Eaves best player we have had up front for a while with the right partner would have made a cracking addition to our team leaves with our best wishes after he has put three past the shots on Boxing day. I believe that JW is going to ask for eaves to come back in January. Riordan; well I don't think I shall miss him because I never saw him do much on the pitch.
Neither of these players are going to be missed for their goals. Riordan was hopeless. Eaves has worked really hard, but he's been strangely ineffective. Was he a victim of the wrong system, was he the victim of poor support from the rest of the team, or is he just someone who works hard with bags of potential, but not quite there yet? We could have done worse than hang on to Rene Howe and Daryl Duffy. I just hope that Ward can pick up a couple of credible goal scorers for the rest of the season. The question is, who's going to want to come to a club languishing at the bottom of the league?
