Harry convinced Tony to speak to Rio and after he did Tony was convinced by Rio he had a lot to offer. Rio seems only interested in selling his new book and slagging everyone off in it. Tony should have stayed with his instincts and not signed him.
TF nice bloke but not a winner Not turning on him ever but FFS someone stop those nicking money from under his nose
Rio needs to be rested as he is far too interested in talking to the media imo. Trouble is, I wouldn't play Green, Traore or Rio and that means a load of changes again!! When all are fit: ---------------------------McCarthy------------------------ Isla----------------Onuoha-----------Caulker------------Yun
It is a disgrace that he is still being picked. Anyone of the other CBs would do a better job including Dunne.
When a lad joins the Club and it seems he is more interested in getting his number 5 shirt, you gotta wonder where his priorities are, huh?
''His name is Rio and he's earning a hundred grand'' ''Just like ol' Arry who's give him a helping hand.'' ''And when he shines it's only when he's holding a shirt aloft in SAF stand'' ''Oh Rio, Rio you'll never be like our Stan.'' If Dunne or Hill performed like Rio has they would be meltdown on this board. Dunne's few mistakes were down to fatigue and a lack of pace but rarely due to concentration or effort. The same can be said of Hill. I was happy to sign Rio based on his potential sweeper role in a 3-5-2 but am dismayed to see his performances in a flat back four. He doesn't give a fu•k.
I no longer think it will make any difference, but the complete lack of conviction and self belief shown by our management in committing to, and then almost immediately abandoning, 3-5-2 tells you all you need to know about how this club is run. Isn't Rio due a few months out injured?
I was underwhelmed when his signing was firstly rumored and I have seen nothing to convince me that he is doing anything that either Dunne or Hill could not do (desperate isn't it?). To me it looks like a glorified farewell tour and it's costing TF a fortune..... Bad, bad decision to sign him.....
