Riise the Younger goes to Pompey

Riise has joined Portsmouth on an emergency loan. Best reported comment was from their manager -

"The Blues boss said: ‘He’s a good footballer and a bundle of energy"

 

Shame we won't see him in our colours, but he deserves to play. I don't think he's been given a fair crack with us.

 

A bit of game time can only help him. Can't see him getting much of a look in with us at the moment, barring an injury crisis.

for one do not think he has the ability to cut it in the "prem" division.

Tosh, having supported Fulham since dot one,i always want to see the club do better,and last year i thought we
had a stepping stone,to maybe move a little higher and possibly win some silverware,(cup ,league cup).
But on our present form,this confidence is rapidly eroding.
But lets be honest,those that we have moved on,apart from the big transfer dealings,haven`t exactly set the world alight.
I only hope that the Jan window sees us in a position where we dont have to sell any of our best 4 players.

 

I would presume it is to get him match fit after his injury.

A lot of his game time for us has been as a substitute and he's struggled to make an impact, but at the moment there are players like Sidwell, Gecov, Etuhu, Baird, all in the same position that he would play. Can he be more versatile and play RB or other positions ?

I remember he's best game was in Basle that he was responsible for the crosses for Zamora to score. A bonus is he plays for Norway with Brede and his brother.

 

Um, SBM, Little Riise is a winger?

 

I think he's best on the wing, but he has also played centre midfield for Norway and - on occasions - for us.

David Stockdale started and made 5 saves in Ipswich Town’s 0-0 draw at Boro on Saturday. On September 19 he started and made 3 saves in Ipswich’s 3-0 win over Coventry. That’s two straight clean sheets for the lad!

Carlos Salcido started and played 90 minutes in Tigres’ 1-1 draw with Chiapas on Saturday On September 17 he started and played 90 minutes in Tigres’ 1-0 loss at Atlante.

Lauri Dalla Valle was an usunsed substittute in Dundee United’s 3-3 draw at Hibs on Saturday. On September 20 he started and played 90 minutes in Dundee United’s 3-0 Communities League Cup win at Airdrie United. On September 17 he started, played 78 minutes, and scored a goal in The Terrors 3-1 win over Inverness CT.

Keanu Marsh-Brown was an unused sub in Dundee United’s prior two matches. On September 17 he came off the bench in the 78th minute in Dundee United’s 3-1 win over Inverness CT. His loan deal was cancelled yesterday. Apparently he couldn't settle in the 'countryside'.

Danny Hoesen started and played 90 minutes in Fortuna Sittard’s 2-1 win over FC Oss last Friday. On September 16 he started, played 90 minutes, and scored a goal in Fortuna Sittards’ 3-1 loss at Maastricht
