I'm happy Lovren has improved from 'Championship' level to 'Mediocre'.

Hopefully he can continue improving and he can become a solid 3rd or 4th choice CB.

  3. Said for a few weeks that Lovren is playing much better. Sakho usually plays better alongside him too

I'd still like a top quality CB to partner either Lovren or Sakho, to guide them and keep them in check during games. I think both Lovren and Sakho are a bit brainless (in terms of defending) lacking the calmness of a top CB.

Id imagine Matip will be 1st choice when he comes and lovren and Sakho will be competing for a place alongside him.

Was gonna say. I think people forget we have signed a top defender in Matip, a Klopp signing too, so he will be there and partnered by another.

He's playing very well but the fact is he made a mistake that cost us a goal. You can't have defenders costing you goals on a regular basis in the heart of your defence.

I think you have to credit Kane with the goal rather than the mistake tbh. Kane saw what Lovren was trying and adjusted his game, it would have caught most defenders out to be fair to Lovren.

He made some great challenges and decisions yesterday, so props for that. But I agree you can't have defenders that aren't consistent in a team that is aiming to win things.

Lovren isn't consistent - if he was, this thread wouldn't exist.

Good back up, but not good enough if we want to challenge for trophies.

I'm hoping Matip can offer that consistency, but not seen enough to judge if I'm honest. We still need to buy in that area this summer for sure.

I'm sorry but they all had to react to a **** decision to assume the ball was going out.

There was quality in the chip to kane and in kane turn.

Lovern tried to get tight as fast as possible when he saw the danger. So he got a yard too close.

If he didn't kane could have got shot at bear post then.

The mistake was Clynes first and after that everyone is scrambling and additional mistakes come.

None of it is ideal. The lesson is chase every loose ball

We outran them again. Take the positives.

Klopp's got the most out of rodgers ****e at this point. Their fitness has imoroved

The finish from Kane was brilliant - but the turn wasn't special, it was very poor from Lovren.

And I don't think Matip is first choice - I think he's better than Skrtel and Lovren but I still hope we bring in another.

Matip and lovern will play imo and sahko will be benched.

Sahko was piss poor yesterday. Spurs simply played their game and pressed on him and lovern and nailed him.

Sakho is pissing me off big style tbh. On song one day, does frig all the next, though he's more of a **** up than more times solid. WTF is the matter with the guy?:headbang:

I think it's a fair assumption that every Rodgers signing has been an inconsistent **** all season, but that Lovren is showing the the most improvement in the latter stages and that has to be a Klopp effect. Something is beginning to sink in with him so I'm prepared to give him another season to prove that he's not a total bellend. TBF it all seemed to land on Lovren's shoulders yesterday.
