This is ridiculous. Who was that bloke that came on here the other day and said that they delayed their honeymoon so that they could go to forest!? How did you do it!? I had my girl come up this weekend and could i go to the rugby or forest... no. I didnt expect to, she came all the way for a weekend. However. Match of the Day and the Football League Show. Match of the day... on at the perfect time, put it on in bed and watch it, even if its in the 'background'. Same with the FLS- and we were the featured game! Now this wasnt just a problem of the weekend, but when im back at uni, what do i do every weekend!? I need to stamp my dominance!! Im not missing it every week, im watching it every week!! I need answers people!!
You have nothing else better to do but watch the footie whilst in bed with your lass? Regardless BBC have catered for you - MOTD2 and FLS are on iPlayer and are put up every Tuesdays.
haha thats what i meant by 'background' viewing well i watched both of them when she had gone, but in terms of saturday MotD, i cant cope without it. I need to stamp my authority on my woman!!
You might have to sacrifice your taste, your self-respect, even your dignity... and watch the X-Factor with her.
just let her know where she stands right from the start mate, i got married on fri, was at forest on sat, and off to bury tonight, its easy when ya know how lol.....................
She does! If you're made to watch X factor you need to trade for watching MOTD. Really need to 'man up' here leicester_ed. My partner used to travel the 3 hours to Leicester to see me & when City were at home, he had the choice of coming to watch City or er...stay in alone. He chose to come with me (did always treat him to a fry up & beers before the game). I did reciprocate & would buy tickets & take him to watch his team too. All about compromise. It worked for me (he married me & let me book the reception @LCFC) ;-)
its a real dilemma. Shes nice and all... but do i love her more than i love my saturday night in with match of the day and a cup of tea? Im not so sure.
As a fellow Student and having problems with the gf. Tell her in advance and ignore whatever she says about it.
she just doesnt understand. We both go out a lot with our mates (dont like it- i always try and avoid her till after 1 otherwise i dont have a good night with my mates!) and she cant understand why we dont go out saturdays and stay in to watch tv. Going to be a real problem next year now that we have houses and not halls as when she comes over for 'adult sleepovers' i WILL want match of the day!!
In my past year my gf decided she was going to stay at mine every night. So I feel for you I just tried to kick out with her friends on Saturday night and give her the key to my house to make her feel special. By the time she's back you would have finished watching the football.
ive been with people in the past who dont seem to take a little interest in sport, or at least pretend to, but this one has absolutely zero interest and doesnt even know the difference between football and rugby (my 2 biggest hobbies!) and unfortunately looks like quite a lasting relationship! Ive trained her to cook for me, so maybe i should accept MotD (well, lack of) a decent payment?
I wouldn't worry too much mate. I think it repeats on Sunday mornings Although that still never stops me from staying up till some ****ty hour to watch the Football League show and Claridge waffling about **** all. I keep telling myself that i'm not going to watch it but I still end up doing it. **** sake BBC, why can't we have Gary? The Prem can watch Manish and Claridge just moan about ****.
the cooking isnt all it seems, she only cooks for me, (sometimes US to the joy of our house) if we buy the ingrediants for her. So its still great as i live in a house of 5 men who dont cook great) but not the greatest achievement- still plenty worth it though! haha emilio thats what im worried about! Though i can 'put up' with it now, if we keep going strong i dont want it to be 'unacceptble' to her to watch it in her company!!
Simplest thing - take her to a match. Either she will love it or hate it - if it is hate then she will leave you to your footie in peace and if it is love then you will have a companion. BTW DO NOT PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN - you have someone that will cook for you and your mates at uni and you want to jeopardise that?!? You are young so let me give you some advice: proper food watching tone deaf chavs on X-Factor with the possibility of some action later beats watching an hour of football with a pot noodle with your right hand as your only companion.
i doubt she would come, she is very very uninterested. Plus id much rather take a mate- he would pay for his own ticket and appreciate it! Plus what if she loves it... i dont want to take her each week! Plus we are at reading uni, kinda harder! you make a good point though, my mates would kill me if i lost our cooking supply!
