We owe him so much. It must be true as he tells us so. Good job he introduced James Brent to the administrator isn't it? Pity it was delayed for months by the bid in which Ridsdale would have bought the club for £1, even though he had no thought of buying a football club. Pity it was delayed because the Football League had a few concerns about a man who was up on a fraud charge owning PAFC.
Just checked and indeed he's not. But then, he wasn't on it before he came to Argyle either...... Couple of [loosely] related items on clubs in trouble and ways out of it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16942162 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16925942
The scrapping of the Emergency loan window would be a problem for many clubs.........and would deprive many a player of first team football out on loan.
Personally I think the whole thing is a shambles. The restriction within transfer windows is presumably there to stop clubs buying success or safety. That ought to be done by addressing football finance directly rather than a half hearted attempt to do so indirectly by restricting transfers. If they aren't careful, removing the facility for emergency loans would only force small clubs to carry bigger squads, which is exactly the extra expense football doesn't need! In any event, the whole thing would become a lottery for the small clubs: if injuries happened to strike while the window was open, you could do something about it, whereas if injuries happened when the window was closed, you couldn't. What sort of sense does that make?
