Just uploading pics I took just before the game started, for a stadium that is supposed to seat just over 32,000 the home crowd was lousy, I don't know how many of us was there, I tried counting but got to ten and was threatened by my mate if I took my shoes of to use my toes... Seriously though to have a stadium not even half full with that capcity is appaling. Is that lack of support for Coventry or lack of interest in football in the area?

 

There were 14,200 there with around 1000 of them Hull City supporters

 

exactly my point not even 50% full, shockingly poor support, is it because they're doing poorly at the moment or something else. I mean even when City have been doing badly we still turn up more than their fans

 

did you count them all?

Its the recession. Boro was sparse at kickoff too.

Both clubs were doing far better when stadiums were built and casual supporters were attending more regularly because of the (relative) success.

We shouldn't be too smug about attendances. In the season we got promoted to the premiership attendances at home were nothing special until about February when they began to pick up. Seem to recall crowds of as low as 14,000+ at one stage in that season. Most clubs have had a boost from building a new stadium, Coventry don't seem to have had any benefit of increased attendance at the Ricoh. Probably due to them being in the doldrums at the moment.

officially 1200 odd city fans there yesterday. I ve been 3 times now and even when the team are doing better, the new ground has always been a sterile passionless venue.

Att 14,370 (1216 City fans) accordng to the OWS.

Not a bad attendance for a Club that have won only one of the last ten - trouble is looking at the shots of the stands the crowd doesn't look anywhere near that figure.

Don't like the design of this stadium one bit - a high roof line which goes round the whole stadium bowl from the hotel/arena main stand doesn't keep the sound in and would have been better to drop down a level in much the same way our stands do from the imposing west stand.
