Hope he starts the season well with the saints to stand a chance to be selected again next month for the qualifers. Hope he stays injury free as well. He is better than most who would get selected ahead of him. Hope he done enough in these 23mins. Not a bad debut mind. 1st touch 2mins 45secs in and scores the winner against the Scots
He's a legend, but he'll never forget where he came from, think that's what makes him so relatable. Very unusual in this day of age.
Absolutely brilliant! Statto question...and I don't know the answer. How many players have scored in all 4 divisions and for England?

Watched this so many times, keep thinking surely someone is going to pick him in a minute, he can't keep scoring from the same position. Now watched this 131 times and he scores everytime, Jock defence absolute rubbish, hopefully Strachan will show them this and keep the scoreline down.
If you were daydreaming, and thinking of coming on for England, wouldn't that be very much the sort of goal you'd dream of scoring?!
Steve Bull (ex Wolves) may have scored in all divisions and for England. Ted McDougall (Bournemouth) and/or Phil Bowyer (Bournemouth) possibly. But I think Rickie's rise and debut goal eclipses these by a long way. I can't remember a reaction like it either - from the other England players and from the press. Absolutely fantastic. Probably my proudest moment as a Gashead. A bit wierd really, but a measure of the man and his legacy at Rovers.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce believes strikers Andy Carroll and Rickie Lambert are competing this season for one England World Cup place. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23720112
A lot can happen between now and the World Cup. Rickie Lambert's Mr Consistency and I'm sure he'll win them over as a useful, popular member of the squad.
