Rickie Lambert is an absolute legend, I know we are not a one man team but this guy has basically single handedly kept us where we are! Absolute brilliant!
He'll take us to the Premier League Rickie Rickie! I never thought that would come true when I first heard those words
Never played in the top division, but I think he's just about taken his place alongside the great Saint No.7s, after the last few seasons. Waiting for an appearance in the PL from him would simply be being picky.
I hope he continues this amazing form into to Premier League if players like Yakubu & Heskey can make it in the league then Rickie should be fine, he's a powerful guy but very fit. I watched Yakubu on MoTD the other night and couldn't believe how big the guy is!
Just seen the goals, 2 fantastic penalties from rickie the first one questionable, the second no doubt a stone wall pen. Quality support from the saints fans.
Worth his weight in gold is an understatement. Pity Lallana's shot was cleared off the line. I haven't heard from my son who was up at Millwall in one of the corporate boxes. (Just spoke to him on the phone says he just smiled as he sat on his hands) Oh boy was he glad to get into the lounge where he was allowed to mingle with the Saints entourage up there. What a win, my boy says he didn't think Saints played that well. So that may just be a sign of a championship winning side. They say that if you don't play well but still carve out a win you have the making of a good side. Can't argue with that can you?
Every player contributes to our success, but Lambert is immense. Still close at the top; the reason we are number one is Mr Richard Lambert. Imagine how confident you must feel as a midfielder supplying the ball to RL and as a defender knowing that Saints are never out of it if the opposition score because Ricky is up front. That kind of confidence percolates through the whole team.
he's the only bloke on this planet who i'd turn gay for! i even told my other half that when the 3'rd went in, she gave me a right old funny look!
One thought to put out there is, though, if we're not playing great but winning (which I happily admit is the sign of champions), why are we not playing too well, by all accounts for four games in a row (Leeds, Ipswich, Barnsley, Milwall)? Please don't get me wrong - with 10 points out of a possible 12, please carry on, Saints, but just something to put out there? The flipside is imagine what we'll do to a team when we put in a big performance!
Think the opposition often raise their game when they play teams at the top...look at Donny against Reading and West Ham recently. I agree that we aren't playing anywhere near as well as we were at the beginning of the season, but I think we are digging deep into our reserves of strength and character. The team believe in themselves and they certainly believe in Ricky and Nigel.
