We got in the Play Offs last season & what happened to our attendance after that “success” ?

 

Last time Charlton were in the 3rd tier 15,000 fans were turning up, this time around it's 8,000 or fewer.
The difference? One bungling fool of an owner, and five years of his dead hand at the tiller.

I don't care what bothers him, and people who "want out" don't take 18+ months to make no progress whatsoever in getting out.
The Club is drowning in debt to this clown, the squad patched together on the cheap and unable to compete with even half decent 3rd tier opposition.
Yet incredibly there are a few people who still don't hold RD responsible, and would rather blame other Charlton fans.

If you can't be arsed listening to how other fans feel about Duchatelet then you're out of luck on this forum, because that's what you'll get in most of the threads, most of the time.

If you want to argue the case for not opposing him, then go ahead. There are plenty here who will gladly discuss the subject in a reasonable manner with you. But if all you want to do is rubbish opinions you don't agree with and think you're superior because you still go to home games, then you'll continue to get the reaction that attitude deserves, no matter now boring you find it.

You're not the only person on this forum who has carried on watching the team he supports. I daresay I've been to as many home games as you have over the past 12 years, and I'll continue to go to the Valley. But unlike you I won't dismiss other fans who feel that boycotting home games is the best way that they can express the anger they feel at what Duchatelet has done to Charlton Athletic.
And many of those fans you dismiss as 'not bothering to go' to home games spend a lot of time and money traveling to away matches to support the team.

Still, you carry on believing the Belgian's bulls**t if you like. But don't expect other fans to shut up about RD on this forum just because you find criticism of him boring.

 

Apologist does the job quite nicely, I don't see the need to find another word for it.

Any reasonable argument will get a reasonable response. Even defending Duchatelet is fair enough if you can make a case for it. But just saying you can't be arsed to talk about RD is not much of an argument, and not much of an excuse to casually dismiss the opinions of other fans.

If you want to engage in a grown up conversation about Charlton's owner then we can do that. Or you can just ignore my views, and I'll ignore yours.
But the more you go out of your way to say how bored you are by what I have to say on the subject of RD, the more I'll continue saying it.

 

Of course the loss of 5k through the gate is not going to break him.

For me and a lot of others there is a principal involved.
