Good signing for Doncaster, as one of my local teams I'd like them to do ok for the rest of the season. Richie Wellens was nothing short of superb in his first 2 season. Sven signed countless midfielders and not 1 of them could get into the team and impose themselves. Since then Wellens has never looked the same player Still a very good servant to the club and a top signing by Nigel. I still think he has alot to offer to some teams in this league but I dont think he is able to perform at the level required for us. Good luck to him
Top professional, he played with passion and desire and was a key driving force in getting us to the playoffs in that first season back from league 1.

Doncaster Rovers have today completed the signing of Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens, according to reports. Richie Wellens found himself way down the pecking order at Leicester City, and has now reportedly completed his return to former club Doncaster Rovers. Wellens spent time away from Leicester City last season on loan at Championship rivals Ipswich Town. The experienced midfielder will now ply his trade for newly promoted Doncaster Rovers.

He was nothing short of superb in his first 2 seasons. Getting player of the year in his 2nd season Other then scoring goals he had everything you would want in a midfielder.
It's very rare to get such a quality passer at this level. Hopefully Drinkwater gets his game together and starts to look like Richie's protegee sometime soon. I think Wellens will still be a real asset for Doncaster.

Good move for both clubs. We get rid of a player on high wages that would never have started a game for us (bar injuries) to further assist us in complying with the dreaded FFP and Doncaster and Dickov get a very good footballer at this level who will be a first choice player there for them. Everyones a winner!
