Exeter City Chief Exec Julian Tagg says that Exeter could be the richest club in England.....owned by the fans with no debt.

But.......he comments that if anything goes wrong they haven't a penny to put it right.

He has got a point though based purely on debt. To not owe anything is quite unique in this day and age.

If every club in the country had to repay it's debts right now without the very rich owner having to stump up the debt in some cases then 91 of the 92 would be screwed. Exeter on the other hand might have a wall that has fallen down but they would be the last man standing.

I know it was a bit of a false brag by their CEO said with a very large tongue in cheek but technically he has a point. If we were debt free and able to just concentrate on the team then we would walk this league with our following. They won't because they are debt free for a reason. They can't afford any as it will sink the ship.
