Just a thread to see what you all think about him? He has a lot of detractors due to all of our takeover attempts (many of which didn't materialise) and since, many of our fans seem to deem him as unreliable. Me? I think he's very good, and he has broken many stories. I just don't see why he receives so much flak.
Saw the title of this thread and was about to moan at you thinking you would be criticising him I think Cawley is great, very rarely does he ever get anything wrong and when he does its usually down to a U-turn by players/clubs. His twitter page is my first port of call when I'm looking out for rumours. Only downside is he tends to have far more Palace sources, or at least prefers them to us and the Wall. I assumed he was a Nigel, but according to his page he supports Fulham.
I thought he was a Nigel too! I don't understand all the criticism of him- seems very unfair. But us charlton fans are up there with the biggest moaners.
