Have they lost their collective, whisky-addled minds? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21077955 McGhee as Strachan's assistant - just crazy. Ans while I posted this, I've just seen the following: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21079956 Adkins sacked by Saints - clearly a reward for getting them promoted twice and steering them out of danger! Quite, quite mad and ample demonstration that football is run by idiots.
I don't really care about the Scotland situation..it'll be a nice jolly for Strachan and his mates...but Scotland as a footballing force is for history. But the Adkins decision...looks like pure madness. I thought they were literally and figuratively pulling away from being relegation certs...but I reckon they are now. The only bit of good news there is that if Lambert now moves on we might get some dosh, but I'd really prefer it not to be under these circumstances.
finding the mcghee for scotland very funny, now a full country will get to hate him wonder if he will still commute from brighton as for adkins, crazy decision. players know him and he knows them. they are performing for him and scoring freely. they just came back from 2-0 to 2-2 away at the european champions chelsea during the week for crying out loud. stupid.
I mentioned in the BBC comments section that Scotland would be better off with Nanny McPhee than Mark McGhee - just a crazy decision. Having said that, I don't dislike the bloke - he's certainly no Paul ****le - but it clearly smacks of nepotism and the old boy's network. The Adkins decision is scandalous. As P49 says, it wouldn't surprise me if Rickie moves on as this new Argentine will want to bring in loads of 2nd rate Continental players and probably won't appreciate Rickie's skills and all-round contribution. Great for us, catastrophic for Southampton.
Mentality for losing games spot on Gordon! Rovers parted company with Mcghee recently were unavaliable for comments View attachment imagesCATZI3LX.jpg Good luck to the Scots and Mcghee they will need some. As for Adkins on the face of it football is a mad world,he will be snapped up by a decent club very quickly possibly Aston Villa,Reading or a struggling championship club,Sheffield Wednesday or Barnsley.Bristol City should have waited a week before they jumped in and recruited O Driscoll as they have missed out on a good manager. I was up to speed on this a few days back, discussing it with a few Scots regulars on GC. They're ****ing fuming
