Not sure I'm fussed on this. Might as well get the Riddler back on board. Don't think OGS will be too keen on having a previous City manager up-stairs either. Hope it's just scare mongering. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dave-jones-returns-cardiff-city-6636597
He's probably explaining the 4-4-2 system and how to direct the players during a game with your arms folded as well as your pants up. How to handle the media will follow.
Nothing official on this is there? Only this could be old news as it was reported before that Jones and Tan talk to each other, and Jones gives some advice. Doubt Ole would have jones interfering, I suspect that was one of the requirements of coming here. Tan can talk to Jones, and vice versa, anytime he likes, doesn't mean a lot, happens in football all the time this sort of thing. Jones didn't do terrible for us but was never going to get us out of the championship, despite tales to the contrary he did have a fair amount to spend at times. Always something at city, and if there isn't they make it up based on the flimiest of information.
1 comment underneath the article which I completely agree with: Just when things are settling down the Cardiff boss scores another own goal. The game is littered with football unrest/discontent when a "Technical Advisor/Director of football/Ex Manager come back or arrive at a club! The last thing Solskjaer's needs is (the term) a monkey on his back, he does not need the man who would take his job in the blink of an eye, watching over him, and reporting every little thing back to Tan. I do not particularly want to see Solsk go. Having said that I hope he has the guts to take no messing or interference from DJ. This I am afraid eclipses employing the painter and decorator - very much a step backwards and stinks to high heaven.
Jay, you've seem to have taken this as gospel, but for me it's a bit of gossip that papers like to put out there now and again. Until I hear something a bit more definite I will take this wih a pinch of salt, DJ has been talking to Tan for a while now, before Ole got here. Even if it made official I doubt it will have any impact on what Ole has planned, Ole came here knowing the rumours surrounding Tan with regards to interference, he would have surely talked about it and got some assurances.
SB, not gospel - however, this is the 2nd time I've heard this rumour and still hoping that it IS just a rumour
Probably a back up plan if we go down. Ole might have a clause where he can walk if we drop out of the Prem and Jonesey slots in as a replacement. Hilts will be pleased.
I don't think there is any doubt that Tan is in contact with DJ and is getting advice of some sort from him, it has been documented for a while now.
For a tyrant making all the decisions Mr Tan seems very keen to take advice. With the way a section of the fans have treated him having a few to talk things over with will not hurt, or it would be funny if suddenly no one wanted Tan to take any advice. Sam and Jones know the club and maybe the time with Malky has made Tan wish he had stayed with Jones. jck
Alan Brazil on Talksport today said he had heard more worrying things from within the club but didn't expand on the detail. I wonder if this is it or more to come? Why haven't sigings been finalised yet?
I think you will find Cardiff signings are done by the club, other clubs hardly have any signings to talk about. jck
