Does anyone have any for sale or know of any? The Club Shop briefly sold some a few years ago; and I had the 1964/66 one I'm specifically after a home shirt from the 80s or mid 90s There are some on Ebay but there either extortionate like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Charlton-...l-Jersey-/301377825049?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 Or oversized like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Charlton-...398?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27f207592e Any help appreciated!
Nice thread, Kish. I've got just about every Charlton kit since 87/88, but I could never sell any of them. They will be passed onto the nippers; they like to wear the smaller ones for matches. My favourites are the Back To The Valley special edition, 97/98 title winner with round neck, and the black and blue away shirt of around 90/91 - love the Woolwich sponsorship! Sometimes I try on them on and it always alarms me to think what a fat bastard I was in 2003/04. 3XL. Get onto the Toffs site. They have a wonderful selection and, in my opinion, are very reasonable for such excellent quality.
Toffs would have been my first port of call. The other option is this site: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Charlton_Athletic/Charlton_Athletic.htm Under a few of them you will see ''available on''. It rarely changes unfortunately. Maybe once a year.
I have never donned a replica shirt in 35 odd years, although I have bought plenty for my offspring. My all time favourite away kit was the all yellow one. I can picture Jon Fortune wearing it. For the home kit, you can't beat the FADS offering around 83-84.
Thanks Gang Ponders - The Woolwich and FADS sponsorships both look great; and I guess they were both local sponsors so that seems like a better thing! I've kept my MESH shirts from when I was a kid but they sadly don't fit; I also should have had the foresight to have bought the Centenary shirt in a adult size so that I could wear it now! Super - Love that site; didn't know we had such a history of black socks! The link to Campo Retro has some good looking classic neutral (ie no badge) tops... I only asked because I'm going watching the Snooker and everyone has their old football shirts on. Which I have never understood why. You never see people on the terraces in Snooker gear.
The yellow has to be my favourite too. Have a signed Scott Parker one framed on my wall. During every season I say to myself it will probably be my last, but when August comes around I always find my self caught up in the excitement on the way to the ground that I go in and buy one. I only ever wear it for the away games though being honest.
The Back To The Valley shirt I mention is the one from that wonderful day in 1992. It is plain and has an awful collar, but it truly is a treasure.
I have the Toffs 74 kit and i can say made very well Love the Bukta 78-80 kit got that as a kid was over the moon never wanted to take it off then i got the away kit yellow with sky blue shorts, think Dad only got me that so he could wash the red one LOL What was that Sports shop in Woolwich that sold our kits just down from the town hall forgot the name of it ???? Also loved teh Woolwich 91-92 kit as well

I bought the 73/74 shirt from TOFFS a few seasons back. We wore that particular shirt for three or four seasons in the mid seventies, including the 74/75 season when Andy Nelson's team got us promoted from the old third division. I chose that shirt because 74/75 was the season when I saw every first team match, home and away in league and cup. The fact that it turned out to be a promotion season was coincidental, but none the less welcome. Ahhhh, what memories. Derek Hales in his pomp.... beating Palace 1- 0 at The Valley on a Friday night, with Graham Tutt making a string of great saves. How we very nearly blew promotion by losing games late in the season (how typically Charlton) and then the last match of the season against Preston at the Valley. It was a must win game. Win and we go up. Draw or lose and we miss out. So, typically, we were 0 - 1 down at half time and had missed a penalty. Killer came on as a late sub though and scored twice. I think Bob Goldthorpe scored the other goal and we romped home 3 - 1. Cue pitch invasion and division two here we come. Heady times. A pal of mine who played representative football for the Royal Marines gave me the Charlton shirt he swopped with Garth Crooks (three white stripes on the sleeve and The Woolwich sponsorship) after a pre-season friendly Charlton vs RM. I've still got it but it doesn't fit me any more, which was clearly evidenced the last time I tried to put it on. The Me'm Sahib pointed this out, with the cutting comment that you can't get a quart into a pint pot to which I replied that I fitted that shirt a bloody sight better than Garth Crooks would now. Question for ForestHillBilly: Is Finch's sport shop still operating in Forest Hill..? As I recall, Old Ma Finch was a Charlton supporter and would always stock CAFC stuff there even though it was more in Palace's catchment area.
