On it's own that is, let's say respectable and not too harmful. But with all the winnable games we have failed to win this is still harmful and we slip further adrift with other results. It's already becoming a large gap for us to overcome, can't see us staying up as 10 points at this stage is not acceptable
Agreed, we'd have been fairly pleased with a result like that during our decent run at the beginning of the season, which is starting to feel a very long time ago now. But it's still another week with no points, and with others actually starting to pick up the odd result (great win for Burnley) it's going to take a lot of character over Christmas to get us back into this league. You don't get to stay up by playing relatively well against the big clubs and losing.
Its just frustrating because we started good and are curently good but played with 99 CMs in all the winnable games causing us to lose.
Its funny but I don't feel this was a bad loss. I know we are bottom but compare this to the Swansea game and we were right in it. They hardly threatened all game and we always looked likely especially with Mahrez. We really need to step up our dead ball delivery however. Corners either never beat the first man or were too deep. Compare Burnleys last minute equalizer against us with Knockaerts effort. That's where we need a drastic improvement.
I guess it´s nice to know we only let them get 1 but still no goals from us. Still can´t believe we lost v QPR & Villa, that was our chance to pick up some points & end a bad spell. I can´t see us getting any thing from WHU next week, Downing is playing really well at the mo & WHU as a whole are on a good run of form. We still have abit of hope this season but it´s looking bad. Have we beat Derby´s total yet ?
One very good save and cant be blamed for the goal. Distribution looked good as well. Good, confident performance
Though to be fair - apart from the goal (which he had no chance) and his one very good save he wasnt really tested at all tbh!
A game where we were not expected to get anything and didn't - but a very encouraging performance - unfortunately we lost the ball in the middle of the park and got punished by a clinical side - but we were in the game throughout and really all that was lacking was a cutting edge and a bit of luck - e.g Vardy with the early chance that Mangala blocked well and that Cambiasso free kick that had Hart beaten only to flash the wrong side of the post. Thought Hamer was great - saved everything he could and, for me more importantly came and punched convincingly when the ball was put in high. Finally a bleat ... not complaining about getting beat - they will beat lots of teams far more convincingly than they did us - but why oh why are officials so star struck - if Andy King (for example) had made the two 'tackles' on David Silva that Silva made on Mahrez (who was great by the way) he would have been booked for the first and sent off for the second ... and with no complaints.
Fully agree. Especially that first "tackle" on Mahrez! Thought Hamer was excellent when needed, espically that double fisted punch in the 1st half. Kasper would have been stuck on his line. We need a keeper to come for crosses to take the pressure off the defence.
Just seen the highlights of the game & I must say we didn´t play to bad at all. DEF was again at fault for the goal though, left FL simply alone to waltz in & tap home. A good performance, but we really need to start winning.
I thought the first half was Cambiasso's best half for us to date. As you said last week, he does seem to be our best deliverer from set pieces. Thought Drinky did well too though, I think they're our best options in the middle of the park. Absolutely agree about Silva. Both tackles were yellows, yet he got through the match unscathed. And we should have had a peno. After all the penos we got last season, I don't know what you have to do to get one in the Prem.
