4-2, have to admit S****horpe did well to get back into the game at 2-2, Parnaby looks to me as good back up especially as he looked to be able to use both feet, but nowhere near match fit. Gavin Hoolahan i believe in the middle look very very good for me, first reserve game in a while, and tbh the young lads did well. One other thing the tempo at which we played at in the second half was a joy to watch the first team could really learn something by the pace the youngsters played at.
Thanks City. I normally go but couldnt tonight. Pleased to hear of Gavan Hoolan. Hep has been going backwards for a while now. How did Kealan Dillon play. I like this kid
Not great on the names, but he didn't do anything in particularly to stand out for me, however the movement of the youngster in general was far superior to what i thought it would be. I have to admit i am an irregular attendee to the reserves but i was greatly surprised. Jack Barlow came on and did well, but i was more impressed with Lewis Clarkson, but overall i think the youngsters did extremely well. Hoolahan is someone i thought would of made a matchday squad or two more recently but maybe he has suffered from the 5 subs rule.
Good to see Jack Barlow getting a hatttrick, I don't think he's even 18 yet is he? http://www.hullcityafc.net/page/NewsDetail/0,,10338~2640190,00.html?
Well he was 14 in October 2009, so he's 17. http://www.tribalfootball.com/hull-city-snap-grimsby-town-teenager-jack-barlow-405801 I remember us buying him with it being a large amount for a young player, but wasn't sure what position he was. I had it in my head he was a centre half, but apparently he's an attacking mid.
I went last night and have to say I disagree with Holohan looking good, I am a regular at the rezzers and I don't think I've ever seen the kid play well - including last night. Got future Ferriby star written all over him. There were a few stand outs, Cooper was skipper and was extremely solid, he seems to have really bulked up too recently.. looks like a man rather than a boy these days. Parnaby looked good, although you can tell he's not match fit - good squad player you would imagine. East got pushed to centre half and did ok. The real positive though had to be Max Clark at left back - I know he represented England recently and he cant be any older than 17?.. he's got a great touch, confident and composed on the ball, brave and quick.. excited about seeing how he develops. Gulacsi was commanding, although a touch slow off his line. Clarkson is lightening quick when he gets going, but seems to lack that bit of composure and decision making.. and that last sentence pretty much goes for anyone I haven't mentioned. Barlow only came on at half-time but scored 3, with possibly 3 shots.. right place at the right time, a lot like Cullen (who was professionally tucking into a sausage roll while watching - these modern day footballers ah?) in his reserves days. Do the daily mail still do a reserves match report by the way?.. cos they really bloody should if not.
Max Clark's 16, he's not 17 until Jan next year. Holohan looked good a year or so back, but unfortunately he seems to be going backwards. Why the hell hasn't anyone come in for Emerton on loan? He always impresses me and you'd think a lower league club would be glad of his services.
yes i was there. had a pre-match Pie-mushies-chips washed down by choco cookies and a flask of Tea made by Mrs T. match was good and 6 goals scored in a Hull 4-2 win. some sloppy defending though for 3 of them but overall an enjoyable game to watch. Trialist Stuart Parnaby(right full back) was ok but nothing special. mostly kids with Liam Cooper and Peter Gulacsi the only others who have seen first team action this season. Scun thorpe had Josh Lillis in goal, plus 5 others who have had first team action this season. its was much better than going to hear Tango man. imo.
