BBC last week Daily Mail yesterday.
If Jose loses Luiz, then I'm afraid he loses me as well. Going all stonewall defensive and breaking up 2 years of rebuilding is not what we need.
    Hope it's just paper talk.

It's BS. Jose has always played with a ball playing CB wherever he's been. He's not going to get rid of our only one.

He will try to work with him, polish the diamond. But there isn't a cat in hell's chance of Mourinho sticking with him, and nor should we, if he continues to give possession away in dangerous circumstances.

I dont have too much faith in what goes into the Mail! Jose hasn't even been formally appointed yet, so I cant see how they have insight into what his plans are for individual players! If he has got plans I doubt he's sharing them with the Daily Mail!

I hope you are right DL .

I would hate the first move for Jose to be getting rid of Luiz as I think he is a great player, and will become even greater under his guidance. Perhaps just move him slightly further away from the goal for the sake of my health

Bloody papers how are they allowed to print so much crap without facts. That's not news at all.

    Luiz sells papers.

Be it slagging him off or then praising him, he seems a popular figure.

With a lot of the journalists we have in this country it's guesswork, they've just gone through a list of players and picked off the most valuable one and decided Chelsea are going to sell him. Next year it will be Hazard, year after Courtois or Lukaku. Remember their job is to sell newspapers not report facts.

I wouldn't want it to happen; I'm a much too bigger fan of his. However, if Barcelona come paying ridiculous money, would we sell? I'm not so sure we wouldn't.

I think we'd all love it if he stayed but I would definitely sell Luiz for the £40m sum being thrown around. I think he's very good but he's not exactly the best in Europe.

Maybe not the best but having seen Hummell's performance in the C.L final (who everyone seems to be getting their old boy out for at the moment), certainly think their is a dirge in real top quality centre halves at the moment generally.

Tbf I actualy think Luiz is as good as Hummels. They'd be some partnership together! And bare in mind it was only one game.

For me Juventus have the best centre halves; Chiellni, Bonnuci and Barzagli are excellent together in their 3-5-2. Outside of them, Thiago Silva, Ramos, Dante, Subotic, Vertonghen, Badstuber and even that Varane lad at Madrid are all brilliant CBs with age on their side (Barzagli aside).

Oh and I'm aware that all of those defenders are unrealistic but I'd certainly swap Luiz for most.

Agree those are all good defenders but I think most if not all are capable of a mistake now and then same as Luiz. I think Luiz gets a bad rep because he plays for us, has a mental comedy hair cut and is such a good offensive player (especially for a defender) that people want to pick on the otherside of his game.

I think Luiz has grown immensely in the last 6 months and should be one of the first names on the team sheet. Put him alongside a 2005 J Terry and that is one of the best most balanced partnerships in Europe. Shame Cahill seems to have gone backwards.

Exactly how I feel about everything you wrote. Luiz has grown and improved out of sight, and should be in the 1st 3 on the Team sheet with Mat and Hazard.
It is his speed that leaves JT and Cahill behind, that is the cause of many defensive problems, people saying he's out of position, when in fact, it is JT or Cahill dropping behind that causes the problem.
What Luiz will become with a mentor like Jose is anybodies guess, but he will cost more than 40 mill after that learning process !!!!!!!!!
