As has been mentioned, Chelsea only have 3 senior CB's and they need someone more reliable than Luiz.

Cahill is out of contract in the summer so that's why the money is so low - Bolton have a full team of players who are out of contract this summer so they could see players talking to other clubs come January.

Yeah but he's probably been the worst player of the season so far, in the entire league. For a 25 mil outlay you should be getting better. It doesn't look like he'll adapt either, you can't get away with being a free roaming CB in the EPL - and that's his main attribute. His awareness and tactical decisions are championship at best.

I know he can play there but he's much better as a full back, certainly more so than Bosingwa. Even if you do count him, with Alex being sold that still only leaves 3.

i always thought his main attribute was intercepting the ball, he just needs to learn to stay in his bloody position and not get too eager to do so. most of his problems come when he tries to nip in front of the attacker, gets turned, and looks like an absolute schoolboy.

 

Cahill is massively overrated.

 

Saw a report yesterday saying £5m. Have to wonder why we didn't have a go for him? If I remember rightly, Mark Douglas said on Twitter that we were interested in Cahill but he was too expensive? Strange.

 

Bolton may not have sold to us for that cheap because we're far closer to being rivals than Chelsea are. Additionally Cahill may have wanted big wages.

He's a makeshift CB, much like Raylor is a makeshift LB. It's not his best position.
