Exactly what we didn't need. With a promotion battle at hand, and West Ham, Birmingham and Cardiff coming up, an extra game just made it more difficult. Now, I apologise is I'm being a tad negative, but all I want is for Nigel's bus to reach the next stop. A cup run might be good, but surely promotion has to be main priority, doesn't it? COYR!
I think that it will give us a chance to put some youngsters out again. It also gives us an opportunity to start both Lee's. As i don't think they would be ready for a league game yet.
Postives - We're at home, Bart can play at home and make amends, Chance for players coming back from injury (Chaplow, Jaidi, Barnard), Chance for the youngsters to play at home and Chance for the fringe players to get another game
For the money they are on, if they can't play 2 games a week then it's rather worrying. We will be fine.
I think it might be good, lots of youngsters/recently injured players who need games to get up to speed and we won't be able to give them opportunities in the league. As for the result, we were lucky to get a draw on the balance of the number of chances each team had.
No real worry, if there is a problem with fitness with the run of games could literally play the weakest team possible if worst comes to worst
Glad they are still in the cup...get a good turnout at SMS. We will know the next round opposition which could make the replay interesting. Am concerned though that we put out a pretty strong side and yet have still lost our va va voom. Wonder what Tadanari made of what he was watching?
I actually think a replay is good news. Lots of players coming back and needing injuries; chance to play those needing games; chance to play those strikers not getting a game; chance to play the CM's who aren't getting a game. I'm happy
I think it's good news. Chance to give those recovering from injury to get game time, shrug off the rustiness. Also a chance for youngsters like Shaw and Reeves to get experience. I would've taken a draw before today, especially after seeing Fox at CB (he played well enough seemingly!).
With Barnard and Jaidi back in the squad, I'm more content with the prospect of a replay than I was yesterday.
Agree as above, puncheon, Barnard, lee all getting back to match fitness today. Good opportunity for Reeves who sounds like he did ok
Happy with todays result. But if we can't field a much stronger team in the next two games I think we will get precisely nothing from them.
Much prefer the result to another loss and an abject display. You cannot go into a game wanting to lose and I am sure the fans that made the journey up would expect us to put in a performance for them.
This is exactly what we could have done with, gives new signings and people like puncheon valuable game time and gives up and coming youngsters a chance to prove what they got! This is not a bad thing at all!!
Were we to win the replay, our home game vs Derby would be postponed. - which considering we'd just have played West Ham four days earlier, might not actually be a bad thing.
