Yes, next in the sack race was poor old Rene! Felix Magath has been installed as Fulhams new manager with their owner saying... Shahid Khan: "Not won league match since Jan 1. Given our form.. no longer merely hope that our fortunes will finally turn." Reputation[edit] As a manager, Magath quickly gained respect and became notorious for his hard, grinding training methods, laying heavy emphasis on discipline, fitness and conditioning. Players gave him nicknames like "Saddam" (Saddam Hussein) or âQuälixâ, a rhyming mash of his first name Felix and the German verb âquälenâ (to torture).[6] He was once described by former Eintracht Frankfurt player Bachirou Salou as the "last dictator in Europe".[7] (Taken from Wikipedia) If thats anything to go by he sounds like another Di Canio!
Should also point out, this new guys Win percentage at various german clubs is half decent! Played Won Drew Lost Win % 728 356 163 209 48.90% Various clubs like HSV, Frankfurt, Bayern...basically managed half the german league
They're ****ed no matters who's in charge. Poor squad imo. Can't be many 'Poyets' floating about for them like. Will they fancy Malky?
I'm well pleased about that ....... I said, somewhere on here, they'd sack him before the end of the season It's also good news because the players must be as sick as **** after listening to Meulensteen's bullshit Now they're turning up for work tomorrow 'looking forward' to another chancer .......... I bet they can't wait Feb 2nd "I remember people wanting Meulensteen as manager at Sunderland, he looks like he's lost at Fulham tbh. I can't seeing him being there long."
I thought Fulham have played pretty well in their last two games and I feared they had turned a corner...This could now go either way..
Fulham and Cardiff to go down and then between us, WBA and Norwich for the 3rd spot imo. Too hard to tell
Fulham are rewriting the book on how to **** up the whole season. I'm absolutely staggered that they have changed manager twice inside 3 months.
All a bit weird and sad for football ........... it's all becoming unreal these days. Meulensteen won 3 league games in a couple of months. West Brom have only won 4 all season.
Magath's stats may look decent, but if you split that into years you will see that there is a massive decline resulting in a few sackings. He's an old school manager, and his formula is no longer relevant. Fulham are down with this.
This may well have less to do with results than other factors. I watched Man Utd v Fulham and there was something when United went 2-1 up that would've made me sack him on the spot. Meulensteen was standing near the dug out laughing his head off with Ray Wilkins, both ex-Man Utd. I thought it was disgusting and, if that's the measure of the man, I'm glad his gone. If I'd been a Fulham supporter, watching my team losing after all that effort to get there, I'd have had the bastard by the throat given the chance. Looking at some of the managers we could've been lumbered with I reckon we're blessed with Poyet.
Muelenrnreuesteeeeeeeeen never had the look of being a mangaer. Lacking charisma, leadership, influence, looking scared etc. Shame for Fulham, if (or should I say when?) they are going down, it has been coming all season though, probably longer.
