Again, it's in the papers and doesn't give any sources, so probably bollocks, but here it is anyway. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/loic-remy-transfer-twist-qpr-3861786#.U8RNjrDMmOk.facebook
Cheers LoneRanger. Sounds plausible and fair on all parties. If it is correct then Beard, Redknapp and the board have done well negotiating the terms.
Is this to make it more expensive for him to go to a club who might be in a relegation scrap with us? All sounds very odd!
If true, it can only be good for us. Either he stays or we get a bundle. With that said, Liverpool may still be interested and they finished 2nd and are in the CL.
Sounds more like something the player would've asked for in that it makes it easier for him to get Champions League football, but the club get something more akin to fair value if he's tempted to go to a club outside of this quartet. The only sticking point is his salary. I am still under no illusions and remain sure that he'll leave the club before the start of the season.
Bewildering. So its a standing buy out clause, not a relegation clause. What if someone outside the PL wants to buy him? If he does not go this window, there will be speculation every window - if one of the big clubs is struggling for goals come January, and Remy is doing ok for us, bye bye. Still think he'll be gone by September though. In who's interest is it to publicise this stuff? Looks like him, Barton, SWP, Cesar and Granero (if they stay) will continue to be on a significantly higher wage than anyone else in the club.
