Does anyone know if Remy will be heading to Ireland? I'm assuming he's back from World Cup leave, and not sure if he's angling for another club, or going to try and prove some fitness for us before the season kicks off.
I still think Redknapp would like to see him gone, probably now to Newcastle, as he doesn't want to be here. The player is clearly unsettled and I suspect the club wants to get on and sign Tory Deeney and SigueSigueSputniksson but can't until the Frenchman leaves and the books are balanced.
Think if we can get Taraabt and Remy fit and in the right mind set they could make a huge difference to our campaign and see us mid table.
Remy would rather stay with us than go to Newcastle. He wants champions league football, if he's not going to get that he might as well stay with us cause no one else if going to stump up12-14 million and pay him 80k a week. I'd say there's better than 50/50 chance of him staying with us now. Arsenal are the only ones who could realistically sign him now and I don't think they will it they'd have done something about it before now.
At this stage after a couple of transfer windows listening to Harry, we know what Harry is like............... say one thing but mean another............. I think Remy thinks he is a world cup superstar Billy Big Bollox who should be playing for a Champions League Team - hence why he, unlike some others, was offski the minute we dropped out of the Premier League. His agent will have been ringing around other clubs the moment Liverpool withdrew their interest in him. What Harry will be doing is stating in public a hope that he actually stays, and state he cant understand why the fittest bloke he has ever met failed a medical, whilst the reality is that he hopes that another Premier League team will come in and give us the £8m and get rid so he can buy "the right sort" British player. Same as Adel, they think they are too big for us, so play your hands close to your chest with Remy and let other clubs come knocking. If Liverpool have pulled the plug for financial reasons and just used the medical as an excuse then maybe another top 6-10 club might be too scared of what is wrong with him to now show any interest now that he is available.
What 've said on here and hope for. But I've no idea what Arry wants, though I suspect it is something like what 4String says!
I would live him to stay but the situation is making it very hard for us to get in forwards, we need to tell him to commit or we will get a replacement and if he's still here next season then he will be a back up player. I can't blame him for wanting to go to a bigger or champions league team but the situation needs dealt with ASAP!
Agreed but what l don't understand is why Harry doesn't go ahead and sign Deeny anyway? If Remy or Austin were to get injured, we'd be stuffed. We a need a number of strikers, not just two. This has been our main problem for several years now.
Very well put !! and agree !! But, (and I could have my numbers wrong) I think his contract buy-out clause ratchets up to £11mil for clubs outside the top 4. So you have a guy with a failed medical, that should be playing CL (he thinks it, and based on last season, he should be) that is starting to get expensive for English clubs. He would be great for us, if he had his heart in it, but probably a conundrum we dont really need, when we're desperately short of strikers.
Perhaps I'm suggesting that Harry intentionally or inadvertently plays games at press conferences. Yes, that's it. That's what I'm doing, I tried reading between the lines. This is perhaps a foolish thing to do...and you're right, I don't listen to every and all of the press conferences, but I listen to some. Don't get me wrong though, there's nothing I'd like more that a fully fit Remy and a fully fit Taarabt, both wanting to stay at QPR and both motivated to deliver.
Totally agree that would that our main problem has been a lack of striking options, the problem is that Deeney won't want to sign unless he knows that he's going to play. With the Remy issue unresolved he can't be sure of that.
