Reports: Remy rejects Newcastle transfer and QPR want striker May papertalk 26/01/2014 By West London Sport Loic Remy has turned down the chance to join Newcastle on a permanent basis, The Sun on Sunday claim. Remy is on a season-long loan from QPR, and Magpies boss Alan Pardew is hoping to keep the France forward at St Jamesâ Park. It is claimed Newcastle and Rangers agreed a £10m fee but that Remy is keeping his options open, believing he could attract interest from other clubs if he impresses at this summerâs World Cup. In Scotland, the Sunday Mail reckon QPR manager Harry Redknapp is weighing up a £700,000 bid for St Johnstone striker Stevie May. The Saints apparently want £1m after recently rejecting a £500,000 bid from League One club Peterborough. It comes after a QPR scout attended a match between St Johnstone and Partick Thistle.
Assuming there isn't this low release clause that was thought to be in place then IMO £10m for a proven Prem goal scorer is on the low side.
Remy would be a better prospect than Rhodes next season but £12m+ would be better business, helping the books to look more presentable IF we re-enter the Prem.
