Palace all the way......why move from London, when he likes it there. They'll offer more readies than us anyway.
Not sure I'd like a perm deal for Remy. Loan move for rest of season yes, but I think he's been a bit of an asshole towards our club for a long time and I don't like his attitude. The one good thing with us would be a regular starting place and if he were to bang in the goals, then I'd imagine an international call up possibly....Main issue that will derail the whole deal - his wages....they will be enormous!
My sentiments entirely. Can't stand him, but if you want somebody to hit the ground running and save our season, he's the man.
Of course he wouldn't, but, alas, when he signs for Palace, many NUFC fans will berate the club for not signing him. Once bitten twice shy, unless he was a heedcase of the highest order, the chances of him falling for Penfold's charms again have to be as likely as finding life on the moon.
Remy's like an ex girlfriend that you absolutely hate, but who still offers you a weekly shag and you take it up, primarily to use and because she was great in the sack.
The Chinese are probably paying Ramires a fortune but oh how I would I liked us to buy him for Colback's position. Class player. Remy won't come back. I just thought he was straight with us at the time. I'm definitely off but I'll score goals while I'm here. Of course we would prefer that he wanted to stay but he didn't so can't really ask for anything else from him.
Well maybe he's changed his mind right. Arguably as **** as that season was too, that was Remys best time in the topflight. He had a **** time first half season he played at QPR, got injured and the team relegated. Then he came to us and he was in great form scored goals. Went to chelsea, sat on the bench for year and half. If he has ambitions, maybe he has had a chance in heart. No way knowing though, unless of course he comes out and says something himself or through his agent. Probably you're right though and he's happy to just pick up his wages and get the occasional run out in the Cup and CL. Hell he probably figures there's a real chance for a CL final and winner medal or runner up if he stays at chelski. What about Tiote then? Clearly they didn't want to pay him da muneeh. Would you still play him? I would. Tiote in the middle, Colback at left back till Dummett returns. For me Tiote>Saivet/Colback for the time being.
No different to the cabaye situation either.... He did exactly the same to us but we would have taken him back because he was sexy.... No chance on a perm deal. We won't pay and he won't want it. He needs football so a loan is our best hope. If palace offer him first team football then for them it's a great buy. He would choose them over us no question. Not because they are a bigger club. But because of location and parts and ambition.
Palace are a better option in terms of location, league position and with a manager who knows how to get the best out of him. Like Cabaye he probably likes Pardew and will end up there. Be a good signing for them too.
Various media reports making us the favourites to sign Remy but I noticed a byline in one paper that said his agent was at Palace's match on Saturday, until a deal is done there are never any sureties about these things, especially when it involves our lot.
Remy would be an excellent addition until the summer. Would probably help us survive and then we could enjoy the full length of the summer transfer window waiting for the purchase of a decent goalscorer, left back and center back. By the end of the window the half-rate signings that Charnley managed to somehow fumble through the door will be paraded for us like world beaters and another season of Premier League mediocrity can begin.
I am reading on the Independent site that we are "Optimistic" of completing a deal for Lacazette, if true would preclude Remy move as can't see them doing both.
Optimistic probably means we are going to offer him or Lyon something ridiculous to persuade him to join. I'd love to see him here, but I have to question 'forcing' a player to move. Look what happened with Thauvin.
