Should we put in a bid for Remy?

We need four strikers next season. He could be number three hit man in a group of four decent strikers. LUkaku ba and two others

seems like a complete mercenary, the fact he rejected Newcastle for QPR proves it.

Obviously, like all the Rangers players and manager. But got to be better than Torres.

Watford, has he put a shift in for you?

Remy would be good enough for any Premier League team.

Can't complain. When played on the wing he's looked lost but up front, whether alone or with another he's been excellent. Not the strongest but does his best to put himself about, incredible pace and an extremely good finisher. Personally think he's better with someone up alongside him so would probably be more suited elsewhere, but someone will get a great deal on him.

Gutted for you Watford. Under Redknapp we've seen a QPR team of real quality, you offer far more to this league than at least 50% of the clubs now. All the best whatever happens. Couldn't help but have the same sinking feeling as I did when United got that free kick on the edge of City's area in November though.

Remy has an 8m release when QPR go down, shrewd!

Maybe but it does seem Torres problem is lack of consistency rather than lack of ability. His performance against Rubin for instance was bloody good. We'd be sorted if he maintained that level every week. Worked hard, got 2 goals, put himself about etc.

Made the difference against Sunderland too. Powerful running with pace again.
Ba has been poor since joining and has very little movement to offer. Pretty good poacher but that's it.

I know what you mean, but we've been lacking goals all season and Ba is the person to give them rather than Torres. I will applaud Torres' performances over the past two games though, been a totally different player. Still want him gone though, his wages do not match his ability.

To my mind he has until the end of the season. If he can fire us some silverware and plays like the last couple of games till the end, I'd be inclined to give him another year rather than spend another 50 on Falcao etc. I appreciate this view wont be shared by many but was also really impressed with the article from him recently.

dunno mate, I'd rather just say thanks and move him on. tbh I'm not sold on Falcao, world class player but he is 26 and going to cost arguably more than Torres. Rather not risk it and buy somebody like Lewendowski or even Cavani if he's cheaper. If none of those then get rid of Nando and give Lukaku his chance.

It seems Lewendowski is set for Bayern but I agree, he would do well in our side. Reminds me a bit of Ibrahimovich. Cavani is going to be silly money as well judging by the quotes from the Napoli president. Neymar is another but not sure he's really a true number 9, and would cost at least 45-50 as well and unproven in Europe. Another couple of names that would be cheaper, may end up as surplus at their clubs and are proven are Gomez and Higuain.

I do wonder that unless it's a swap deal with Falcao, I think we'd lose so much money on Torres that maybe he will end up staying and fighting it out with Ba and another (maybe Lukaku though I think he'll have another year out on loan at a better club, Everton??).

    Should fit in well then.
In all seriousness I think he will go to either Spurs or Arsenal. Shame we haven't had him all season.

Although Remy has seemed to opt for more £££s and joined DQPR rather than Newcastle, I think he's a top class player. When watching (admittedly limited) footage of him at both Marseille and DQPR he has a quality first touch, devastating pace, great finisher and poaches lots of his goals.

I think Chelsea would be a match for him considering you only have Torres and Ba. Torres will probably **** back off to Spain though.

What of the rumours that Torres goes back to Atletico Madrid and Falcao comes to Chelsea in return? <ok>

Certainly a story with legs cos it makes a lot of sense. We've been linked with Falcao for 2 years, if he leaves Atletico would need a striker and Torres would be the obvious fit.; his boyhood team and returning to spain where he'd probably have a better time of things (but not likely to get Madrid or Barca coming in for him). Their manager has also been saying nice things about him to fuel the fire.

Can see it happening but Torres has also come out and said he wants to stay recently so we'll have to wait and see.

As for Remy, at 8 million it wouldn't be bad business for a very good player. Whether he is quite at the level that would have us challenging for the top honours again, I'm doubtful.

He would be the perfect signing for you. This lad knows where the goal is. He is as efficient as an assassin, you don't notice him and then he'll get one chance... Bang! The ball is nestling in the oppositions goal. Better than Torres and Ba at the moment imo. He would be a real cheeky steal if you manage to get him. I wished he started the season with us, we wouldn't be in the proverbial if he did. Remy is a quality striker. I doubt we will be able to keep hold of him now, but it will be interesting to see how he progresses at a bigger club. <ok>
