    Gawd. Is that what pitches were like in those days? <yikes>

    I didn't believe it when my granddad told me about the 70's.

    It'd be great to get a modern day referee's reaction to some of those tackles.

    The history books suggest the 1880s were nearly as bad as the 1870s as well Cling.
