In Flanders Fields In Flanders fields, the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. please log in to view this image
My only wish for today, apart from a City victory, is that the Remembrance ceremony is kept simple and the crowd understands what they are supposed to do and when.I'm not holding out much hope but what will be will be. I’m not sure whether a football match is the place for such an emotional moment.
Last year's was impeccable tbf and it does have a place at football if it is made clear to the hard of understanding what is going to happen. Hopefully today's will go as well as last year's
That was the best observed minutes silence I can remember, no noise from the concourse and no idiots clapping. Well done all.
