I was at the Forest game on Tuesday night but couldnt make it to the game today, although I wanted to be there more than anything.
I was glued to Sky Sports News / Yorkshire Radio in the build up to the match & can say with hand on Heart that Leeds United - the Club & the fans did ourselves proud in the manner in which we Remembered a great servant of the club.
Gary Speed was a hero to many, many people over the Years & was held in high esteem wherever he played/managed. That was the mark of the man.
But he is regarded by the Leeds faithful as 'our boy' who grew into a man whilst so proudly representing our Club.
I have never felt so emotional over the death of a person I did not know personally, I am proud in the knowledge that I was able to watch Speedo in his heydey at Leeds & sincerely mourn his passing.
I sang my heart out at Forest on Tuesday & chanted his name along with the Elland Road faithful from my living room today, despite odd looks from my 2yr old Daughter (who tried her own version of "Speedo, Speedo!" which brought on the tears again).

As we all know at Leeds games we invariably always chant Lucas Radebe's name, well I propose that from now onwards we chant Speedo on the 11th minute of every game.

Gary Speed was a hero to Thousands of football fans.......................................

.....But a LEGEND to Leeds United.

    Agreed.

Yesterday was just something I have never experienced before. I was completely choked during his pre match video tribute. He scored some great goals for Leeds and will and should be always remembered.

I think singing his name will now be sung at every game, joining the Radebe and Matteo chants.
