This is the run in between the two of us,which has the hardest games,I would say Coventry. Common lads lets get these points to stay up. I was there at Coventry when we draw 2-2 with 10000 city in town, that was magical as a 15 year old lad. But I don't want to go to the wire lets pull clear. Coventry: Hull (A) P'Boro (H) City (A) Burnley (A) Millwall (H) Doncaster (H) Soton (A) City: Derby (H) Forest (A) Cov (H) Birmingham (A) W Ham (H) Barnsley (H) Burnley (A)
After reading the thread 3 times I then understood it! I think our remaining fixtures look the harder of the 2. I hope with the new faces the Boro result will be the start of things getting better. Hogan Ephraim is a player that will be good for team spirit on and off the pitch, Bikey (Amougou) and McManus could be a solid pair. I hope its now a squad that will fight to the end. So bring 'em on!
if it has to go to the last game of the season then we have the best chance but our goal difference could let us down I'd say coventry can get 7 points from there remaining fixtures and we can get 9 maybe 10 so its going to be squeaky bum time till the end, lets just hope in 3 games time weve dragged millwall and forrest right back in it
If this seasons previous results have anything to show, we are good against the teams we have already taken points off, so we should get something out of West Ham and Burnley! I know we will lose before the end of the season but the only one I don't think we get anything out of these remaining games IMO is Brum! I think we will get a few draws in amongst these remaining games! I have a feeling that this is the year we put that hoodo to rest with Forest!
I think coventry have the easier games. They have including each other 3 teams fighting relegation we have two. The telling game could be last gamr of the season as if southampton have already won the league how will they play
Think we need to need to win the home games between derby, coventry and barnsley games to stay up. Need at least 9 points and beat coventry.
Even if Southampton won the league, I would imagin that they would want to send their fans off with the last home game of the season with a party! Plus Millwall have a tough run in as well! Equal Coventrys results they stay below us simples
Its clear that anyone can beat anyone in the Championship - even yesterday that much was re-affirmed when we got a draw at Middlesboro
You have to say that given their recent upturn in home form, and looking at the 3 teams they have to play at the Ricoh, that I'd expect Coventry to get 9 points out of 9. By the time the fixtures come around Millwall will be safe and Doncaster will be down but nerves may become a factor. Coventry are dire away from home which is why we must beat them at the gate. I don't fancy us getting anything at Forest or Birmingham or at home to West 'Am so we must go for broke on the others. Whether we survive is still very much in our own hands but it wont take much for it to be beyond our control if we slip up again and Coventry take advantage.
arent coventry the only team not to win away? that game we play against coventry will be the biggest game of the season, it could be a step away or back in the relegation zone keep the faith though
Shiny - Yes that's right but they have won something like 6 out of their last 8 home games, which is why I reckon that they may easily take 9 points from their final 3 home matches, and given our poor performances home and away I reckon we need 10 points from the remaining games to ensure we stay ahead of Coventry after game 46. This means we need to beat Derby, Coventry (could be the crucial game) and Barnsley at home and get one or more points on the road
The home game vs. Coventry is the acid test - fail to beat them and I think we are going to be relegated. Win that game and we have a realistic chance. A draw, with our horrendous goal difference will simply not be enough. Coventry's home form is far more predictable than ours. Both teams have poor away form.
True, City have won 4 away from home and Coventry 0 so we need to ensure that they get nothing when they come to us.
